Eddie the Elephant Has Something to Say – Inclusive Children’s Book

Eddie The Elephant Has Something to Say written by SLP Alison Johns from Calgary, AB

In this story, Eddie uses a communication device known as an AAC device to communicate to his friends. Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) refers to any mode of communication that can be used in addition to or instead of speech. Eddie is also a multimodal communicator because he uses multiple strategies to communicate, and they are all valid and useful modes of communication.  There are a wide variety of reasons why someone might use AAC.
